We are looking for Senior Oracle DBA’s – South African citizen or with work permit

Duties & Responsibilities

Job duties and responsibilities (but not limited to):

  • Install and maintain Oracle Grid Infrastructure and Database (12c/19c/21c)

  • Database Backup & Recovery (RMAN via backup software)

  • Design & Implement Oracle Advanced Security (data masking, encryption)

  • Capacity planning & Performance Monitoring (OEM)

  • Ensure self-development in respect of all new systems and technologies that are introduced to the company, including required certification training

  • Assist Sales team with tender responses by providing and compiling technical information/technical proposals/bill of materials

  • Act as technical team leader on projects

  • Run technical workshops with clients and compile detail design documents for implementations

Desired Experience & Qualification

Education & Experience:
  • Relevant experience 10+ years

  • Bachelors in Computer Science or Masters Computer Science or equivalent preferred.

  • Oracle Database 11g and/or 12c Certification (OCP) and experience (mandatory)

  • Linux and/or Unix experience (mandatory)

Additional certification and experience in at least 3 or more

  • Oracle High Availability & Replication (RAC, Data Guard, Goldengate)

  • Microsoft SQL Server

  • PostgreSQL or MySQL

  • Backup Technologies (Netbackup / Data Protector / Commvault)

  • Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity

  • Virtualization (Oracle OVM/OLVM, VMware, HyperV)

  • Big-Endian DB migrations

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Analytical approach to problem solving and troubleshooting

  • Ability to work overtime and standby when required

  • Ability to work well under pressure, especially in maintaining a balanced and logical approach

  • Being Self-motivated and self-managed and taking ownership

  • Ability to listen, troubleshoot efficiently and communicate effectively with clients and team members
